Anand Kumar never gave up mathematical learning despite all the difficulties. He commenced his classes in mathematics by renting a room for 300 INR a month and named the institute after Ramanujan as the Ramanujan School of Mathematics (RSM). With the very starting of his institute, which in 1992 had only two students. But it was not long until he rejoiced in the fact that he has already established the name of his shop with his uncompromising determination and vigor. Inside a brief period, the number of the university’s students sharply increased, thus displaying an efficiency of the undertaken actions.


Then, once upon a time, a student of low status approached her for some help in preparing for JEE as they couldn’t afford to join elsewhere. This inspired the commencement of the Super 30 course by Mr Kumar leading to the launch of the program in 2002, which allowed 30 underprivileged students to pursue the JEE free of cost while also providing them with accommodation and food.

Guiding the Brilliant students of Super 30


Among 30 who were given coaching assistance in the first year, 18 ultimately got through the IITs selection process. The program offered to those who wanted to do community service the year after that had an oral exam to narrow the final 30 students. The figure of accepted students of IITs this year increased from 22 out of 30 in 2004 to 26 out of 30 in 2005, thus the popularity of the program grew and other applicants started showing interest. In the period of 2003-2017 of 450 students from Anand Kumar’s program 391 of them entered IIT.
